Section 1
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing https://www.cardsell.co.uk, creating an account, requesting a quote or submitting a gift card, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms & Conditions. They form a binding agreement between you and CardSell.
These terms apply alongside every other policy published on our website, including our Seller Agreement, Gift Card Acceptance Policy, Fraud Prevention Policy, Payment & Payout Policy, Refund & Dispute Policy, AML & Compliance Policy and Privacy Policy. Those policies are incorporated into these terms by reference.
If you do not accept these terms, please do not use the website or submit a gift card.
Section 2
About CardSell
CardSell operates an online platform that purchases eligible gift cards from customers through a secure, verification-first process. You choose your brand, enter the balance and see the payout offer before submitting anything. Every submitted card is verified, and redemption only takes place once you have authorised it.
We serve customers located in the United Kingdom. All correspondence and payouts are handled securely by our support team.
We are a buyer of gift cards. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting as an agent for any of the retailers or brands whose cards we purchase.
Section 3
Eligibility
To use our services, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old, or otherwise hold the legal authority to enter into contracts.
- Provide accurate, current and complete information about yourself and any gift card you submit.
- Be legally authorised to sell the gift cards you submit, either as the owner or with the owner's permission.
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations in connection with your use of the service.
We may suspend or close an account where these eligibility requirements are not met, or where the information provided cannot be verified.
Section 4
Gift Card Submission
Submitting a gift card is entirely voluntary, and submission does not guarantee acceptance. The payout shown before submission is an indicative offer based on the brand and balance you enter, and is subject to verification.
All submitted gift cards undergo verification before any redemption takes place. Where the verified brand, balance or status differs from the details you supplied, we will recalculate the offer and confirm the revised figure with you before proceeding.
CardSell may decline any submission that does not meet our eligibility or verification requirements, or where acceptance would be inconsistent with our policies or legal obligations. Declined cards are not redeemed and remain yours.
Section 5
Verification Process
Verification is carried out on every submission and may include:
- Balance verification — confirming the live, unspent value of the card.
- Brand eligibility — confirming that the issuing brand is one we can currently purchase.
- Duplicate detection — checking the code against our register of current and historic submissions.
- Fraud screening — checking for indicators of stolen, manipulated or unlawfully obtained cards.
- Risk assessment — reviewing account activity, submission patterns and payout details.
Additional information may be requested where appropriate, such as proof of purchase, proof of identity or clearer images of the card. Verification times vary depending on the brand, the value, the accuracy of the details supplied and the hours during which the issuing retailer can be reached.
Section 7
Pricing & Payments
The payout offer is displayed before submission, so you always know the amount being offered before you commit. Rates vary by brand and may change at any time; the rate shown at the point of submission is the rate applied to that submission.
Accepted transactions are paid electronically to the payout method you select, such as a local bank transfer (UK Faster Payments) or a supported e-money provider such as PayPal or Wise. You are responsible for the accuracy of the payout details you provide.
Payment timing may vary depending on verification and payment processing, and we do not promise a fixed completion time.
Cash payments are not offered
All payouts are electronic. CardSell never pays in cash, and never sends cheques, cryptocurrency or other physical instruments.
Section 8
Prohibited Activity
When using our website and services, you must not:
- Submit stolen gift cards or cards obtained through unauthorised transactions.
- Submit fraudulent, manipulated, altered or otherwise invalid gift cards.
- Use false identities, impersonate another person, or supply misleading information.
- Attempt to interfere with website security, access accounts or data without authorisation, or disrupt the service.
- Engage in unlawful, abusive or deceptive activity of any kind.
CardSell may suspend, pause or refuse transactions where misuse is suspected, may close accounts, and may report matters to the appropriate authorities where we are legally required or reasonably believe it necessary.
Section 9
Refunds & Disputes
Refund requests and disputes are reviewed individually, on the facts of each case, in accordance with our Refund & Dispute Policy. Cash refunds are not available.
To raise a dispute, email support@cardsell.co.uk with your submission reference and a description of the issue. We aim to acknowledge disputes within one business day and to provide a written outcome as promptly as the facts allow.
Section 10
Privacy
Personal information is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws, including UK GDPR where applicable.
Gift card numbers, PINs and redemption codes are treated as sensitive commercial data, transmitted over encrypted connections and accessible only to authorised personnel who need them to verify or process your submission.
Section 11
Intellectual Property
All website content, branding, logos, graphics, text, design elements and software remain the property of CardSell or its licensors, and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You may view and print pages for your own personal use. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, distribute or create derivative works from our content without our prior written permission. Third-party brand names and logos referenced on the website remain the property of their respective owners and are used only to identify the gift cards we purchase.
Section 12
Limitation of Liability
We provide the website and services with reasonable care and skill. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, CardSell is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses arising from your use of the website or services, including loss of profit, loss of opportunity or loss caused by inaccurate information you supply.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected.
Section 13
Changes to These Terms
CardSell may update these Terms & Conditions periodically to reflect changes to our service, our policies or our legal obligations. The latest version will always be published on the website with an updated "Last Updated" date.
The version in force at the time you submit a gift card is the version that applies to that submission. Continued use of the website after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
